Hi, MC Fleet #104,
Welcome to our third season of sailing!
We are all looking forward to the start of another great summer of sailing on beautiful Gull Lake. We are excited to welcome new members to the fleet.
There are a few logistical items that need to be covered as we move into the season.
MC Fleet Racing Schedule:
All races are scheduled for Saturdays. We will start at 1:30 p.m. The location will be on the main lake in front of the club, unless otherwise notified. (Steamboat Bay and Rocky Point TBD)
Following the races, we hope to enjoy the company of all the sailors at the club. Bring your own refreshments.
August 5 FUN REGATTA - all day plus dinner
Finances: Each MC registered to the fleet will need to pay a fee to defray the fleet costs. This year the cost will be $150 per boat. We would like to require donations to GLSS at the Skipper Level. We highly encourage a donation at the Admiral Level as we will be using the GLSS facilities and equipment throughout our season. For those of you who have not already made your donation to GLSS, here is the link to the new, easy to use website. Click Donate above.
PRO (Principal Race Officer): Nick Driessen has offered to assist the fleet with PRO duties this year. Please offer to help the PRO for one of the Saturdays. It would be good for all to take a turn eventually and learn the skill of setting a course and managing a race.
Safety Support: Please offer to help with Safety Support. We are hoping we can all enlist a friend or family member to assist so that sailors can be outracing. We need to be safe out there!
Regatta Logistics: The fleet is committed to giving our support to the Fun Regatta on August 5. We hope for a great showing of the fleet at the regatta and also seek volunteers for the following 'on the water' tasks. These tasks should not interfere with your ability to sail in the races. A few of the tasks include Launching, Boat Inspection, Race Equipment, PRO helper, Safety, Scoring, Marks and Mooring. Task list will be forthcoming. Thanks for volunteering!
Communications: We are hoping to use the website and email for MC FLEET communications. Share your photos if you are able! During races we would like to use vhf radios to improve PRO to Fleet communications.

2017 Fun Regatta
Join us for the annual Fun Regatta, Saturday, August 5, 2017.
Format: The Fun Regatta will consists of 4-6 races. The emphasis in this regatta is sailing fun for all ages. In case of inclement weather, races may be rescheduled for Sunday.
Fee: $75 per boat, includes lunch for skipper and one crew member. Saturday dinner and additional lunches are an additional cost and may be ordered below. T-shirts will be available for purchase the day of the regatta. These performance t-shirts will be $20 and come in adult sizes (small-2XL).
