Brainerd High School Sailing Club
Brainerd Area High School Racing Team
Spring Session: first week in April – first week in June
Fall Session: Labor Day – End of October
Cost: $200*
The Brainerd Area High School Racing Team is available to 7th-12th grade students (girls and boys) from any school in the Brainerd Area. High School sailing is a two season sport – sailors can participate in the fall, spring or both. Practices are held after school Tuesday through Thursday (3:30-6:30). Sailors have the opportunity to attend competitions across Minnesota most weekends. We primarily focus on learning about sailboat racing, but it’s also a great opportunity to improve your sailing abilities even if you aren’t interesting in competing. Practices are hosted by the Gull Lake Sailing School in boats called Club 420s. Essential safety and racing gear will be provided. You don’t need to know how to sail to join the team; in fact you can join even if you have never been in a sailboat before!
